    Yagyu Kaido - Highlight Walk

    One of Kansai's best hikes, the Yagyu Kaido follows the old samurai trail from the village of Yagyu in the pristine Nara countryside through the Kasugayama Primeval Forest into Nara. The highlights trail skips Yagyu and instead you start from the beautiful temple of Enjo-ji, about half way along the trail.

    Getting There: From JR Nara Station or Kintetsu Nara station:
    Take Nara Kotsu Bus Number 94/100/102 to Ninnikusen (忍辱山) bus stop. Enjo-ji Temple is close by. There are only a few buses daily, so double check with the Nara Tourist Information Office or Nara Kotsu Bus. The most recent timetable can be seen [here]
